Kyabje Bokar Rimpotche's start for Paranirvana is an immense loss for his disciples, the Lineage, all the beings. When a being such as Kyabje Bokar Rimpotche leaves, a light of compassion dies out, the world loses a true teaching, a bond with the spiritual way. We know that He is with us and we still receive his blessing, and we request so that our Masters continue to teach us the way right of the bodhisattva towards the awakening, in waiting He returns one day close towards us. For his disciples He remains in their heart. For our part, in Center KTTEL, we will continue with devotion to practise according to his teaching. Kyabje Bokar Rimpotche's was born in Tibet on October 15, 1940, the year of Dragon-iron, in a family of wandering stockbreeders. He was 4 years old when the indications given by H.H. the XVIth Karmapa made him recognize like Tulkou of his preceding incarnation, Karma Sherab Eusser. He was established and began his traditionalformation in Bokar Goeunpa, monastery founded by his preceding incarnation. To the thirteen years age, he left in Tsourpou, sits of Karmapas where he continued his studies close to XVIth Karmapa. He remained three years there then returned towards his monastery. He assumed very young person the load of the community of Bokar, located in Western Tibet not far from the Mount Kailash, one of the most important crowned places of Buddhism and Hinduism. The Chinese invasion made him choose the exile, like much others, whereas he was old a score of years. He took the road with some seventy-five people, in full winter and run after by the Chinese, passing from the collars to more than five thousand meters. They could after fifteen days of walk and at the price of enormous difficulties, to cross the border and to find refuge in Nepal, in the province of Mustang. Little time after, the Chinese entirely shaved the monastery of Bokar. Tulkou Bokar Rimpotche remained a certain time in Nepal then went to Rumtek in Sikkim, (seat of Karmapas in exile) then independent, in order to reside close to Karmapa. Because of the disease of one of his old servant who accompanied him, he was constrained to settle in Dardjeeling, there he had to plant a tent in the enclosure of the temple of Bhutya Busty. However, this temple sheltered another Lama in exile: Kyabj Kalou Rimpotche. of whom he became the principal disciple and it is as he entered in relation to the Shangpa Lineage, (one of the eight great original lineages by which Buddhism passed from India to Tibet) whereas until there his formation had introduced him only with teachings of the Lineage Karma Kagyu. A few years after, Kyabj Kalou Rimpotche having received in gift a ground in Sonada, in three months, they built a Center of retreat, devoted to the retreat of the Shangpa Lineage, and he made this retreat of 1964 to 1967. During the second retreat, he assumed the role of drouppeun. From 1971 to 1974, he made a retreat of the Lineage Karma Kagyu. In his exit, H.H. the XVIth Karmapa chooses him to be the drouppeun of Center of retreat of Rumtek, of which he was occupied until to date. In 1984, with the help of Kyabj Kalou Rimpotche, he founded a Center of retreat of Kalatchakra, and then that becomes an increasingly important Monastery. There is currently nearly two hundred monks, of many buildings of which a Center of retreat Karma Kagyu. On the whole, Kyabj Tulkou Bokar Rimpoche remained 25 years close to his Master Kyabj Kalou Rimpotche. August 30, 1987, at the time of the inauguration of the Temple of the Thousand Buddhas, in Bourgogne, Kyabj Kalou Rimpotche presented him at the public, and says amongst other things: "Bokar Rimpotche is an extraordinary Lama, perfectly accomplished as well in the field of the study as in that of the practice. Naropa had prophesied to his Marpa disciple that, in his succession, each disciple would rank above the Master who preceded him. Thus, Milarepa, direct disciple of Marpa, would be higher than this one. Same manner. Kyabj Tulkou Bokar Rimpotche will be my successor and he will be greater than me ". He also had charges the Center of retreat of Kalatchakra in Lava, (above Kalimpong) of H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rimpotche. Since many years, he carried out the "Monlm" in Bodhgaya, the great meeting of prayers of the Lineage Karma Kagyu, to which these last years H.H. XVIIth Karmapa joined as soon as he had the possibility of it. He was for H.H. Karmapa a professor "senior", and transmitted to him the invaluable oral traditions of Soutras and Tantras of the Lineages which he himself had received. He had also for several years, the load of education and the traditional formation of Yangsi Kalou Rimpotche. And, since 1992, for his Western disciples, He gave major teachings with engagements followed and precise for the practice of the Preliminaries and these last years, that of Ydam. That with the support for the organization of his translator interprets of French Lama Tcheuky and Lama Namgyal, and Nogdup Burkhar for the translation in English and logistics in India. Lama Tcheuky and Lama Namgyal had been authorized by Bokar Rimpotche for a few years to give a seminar in France, (in Vadjradharaling, in Normandie) for the disciples who could not come to India, that only for the first three years of practice. He had as a principal disciple Khenpo Deunyeu Rimpotche, who lived with him and followed him in all his displacements. And, to any occasion, in particular at the time of the seminars for the Western disciples, gave teachings which are of a great scholarship and a great clearness. Khenpo Deunyeu Rimpotche is a person full with love, humour, opening and humility and who can transmit his devotion.
